I feel honoured to welcome you all on behalf of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Bengal College of Engineering and Technology (B.C.E.T), Durgapur. The Mechanical Engineering department has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) two times consecutively since the year 2017. The department has the privilege of experienced and well-qualified faculties, well-equipped laboratories such as Strength of Material Laboratory, Manufacturing Laboratory, Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory, Fluid Mechanics and Machinery Laboratory, Material Testing Laboratory, Mechatronics Laboratory, Dynamics of Machine Laboratory, Metrology Laboratory, Internal Combustion engine Laboratory, Heat Transfer Laboratory, AutoCAD Laboratory, Central Workshop, etc.
We are committed to impart our students with quality technical and professional education through outcome based teaching and learning process which provides them an environment to develop advanced thinking and problem-solving skills. The department has been continuously working since its inception with the mission of preparing the students to excel in the industry and be successful in higher studies. Apart from classroom teaching, the students are guided and motivated to implement practically the concepts of learning in classrooms through experimentations in the laboratories which help them to gain confidence to be a successful and skilled engineering professionals.
